Key Account Manager Industry and Retail

Ensure company’s growth in terms of sales, profits & customers base in Large accounts developing the Industry/Retail/Foodservice channel in Belgium & Luxembourg in line with the Large account strategy and sales plan and the Group’s guidelines, actively promoting the Group’s product lines, and create a strong long term partnership to the assigned key accounts.


Key tasks


  • Develop, formulate and implement a development plan for certain national accounts in consensus with the business development team (R&D, TA, marketing,…).
  • Organize regular customer meetings to develop the business. Organise and participate to multi-disciplinary status meetings. 
  • Organise account review meetings (internally and with customer) on a regular basis. Involve all members of the business development team.
  • Organize a central customer project list and keep this up to date. Lead these projects through the large account sales process (SANCOC) in order to ensure the business cycle is well managed.
  • Understand the customers’ manufacturing operation systems, processes and policies in order to use their language for sales discussion. 
  • Ensure proactive support and fast reactive troubleshooting and (technical) problem solving at customers, together with the other members of the business development team (R&D, quality, TA,…).
  • Establishes, develops & maintains business relationships with current and prospective customer in order to generate new business. This relationship building will be at all levels within customers ( NPD, Technical, Sales, Operations & Commercial ) - Putting the customer at the centre of all activities
  • Define very well the needs of the customer and bring other members of the business development team in contact with their “homologues” at the customer’s side in order to build and grow the confidence and as a consequence the business with this customer.
  • For customers with an international representation: actively participate to global/regional account reviews. Actively share best practices and learn from your international colleagues. Develop and implement group Key Account Plan. Take the lead of the international Key Account team for at least one International Account with Headquarter in Belgium. This means: organize account reviews between the KAMs in the different countries, consolidated reporting to HQ channels, supervise pricing strategy,… 
  • Coordinate and/or negotiate the sales deals with the customer (pricing, delivery conditions etc…)
  • Follow up the sales results and if necessary take corrective actions
  • Report progress on the account on regular basis
  • Overall responsible for Total Profit & Loss with this account



Who are we looking for?


You have an university degree or equivalent by experience
You have relevant commercial experience in B2B, industrial experiencen food industry or FMCG
You are passionate about food
You are fluent in Dutch and French and have a good level of english
You are capable to build solid relationships inside and outside the organization
You are an excellent communicator with strong verbal, written and negotiation skills
You are a genuine team player, service minded and result-driven
You have experience with CRM tools and MS Office
