Health & Safety Engineer

The main mission of this role is to:

The Group Safety Engineer will support Puratos Group Safety, in creating and sustaining a safe work environment in where serious injuries and accidents can be prevented. The Group Safety Engineer will support stakeholders to positively contribute to Health, Safety, Security and Well-being of people and planet by enabling a Culture of Caring. This function is based in our Headquarter in Groot-Bijgaarden but has an international scope.

Key Accountabilities

You will help to implement the purpose, mission, vision, strategies and objectives. This includes the Safety Strategy for the Group.
You focus on the short and long term strategy. This includes to support implementation and maintenance of standards of excellence.
You implement and continuously improve our H&S Management system that is benchmarked against ISO 45001 Standards.
You oversee compliance and integrity on H&S and use global dashboards and analytics.
You monitor by having the appropriate competency and systems in all Puratos sites.
You give support to sites when needed, e.g. in the Operational Excellence program to help with the implementation of means and tools, delivering trainings, etc.
You help to maintain the Safety part in the H&S SharePoint. All stakeholders must be able to retrieve the latest and most up-to-date requirements, standards and best known practices. Next to this, KPI reporting shall also be maintained within the SharePoint Environment.
You will support the Group Safety Manager upon request.

Who are we looking for?

Experience is one thing but personality is equally important, if not more so. Our ideal candidate is autonomous, can prioritize, proactive, energetic, a hands-on problem-solver, cooperative and very curious.
On top of that we expect a minimum of 2 years of experience as Safety Engineer.
You have a Bachelor or Master. A specialisation in Health and Safety is a pro. Having a Bachelor in engineering and/or some technical background is a pro.
Off course you need to be very passionate by Health and Safety. Let's say you breathe Health & Safety.
As reporting and analytics is part of the function you need to have good analytical skills, being practical and detailed oriented.
Working in an international environment entails English being the working language so we expect a fluent level (spoken and written) in English. Additional languages are a pro.
Openness for interaction with a diverse team of people in international environments is essential.
