Global Continuous Improvement and Quality Control manager



As a Group Continuous Improvement and QC manager you’re working in a fast growing and continuously improving multi-cultural environment. In this role, you will make sure we have reliable processes in place and have the right scientific background on methods & processes to make us a reliable partner in innovation towards our customers and stakeholders.



In parallel, you lead the quality continuous improvement key program across our business units, manufacturing sites and regions around the globe.



You will be part of the Operational Excellence team and report to the Group QHSE Director


The job is based in Groot-Bijgaarden, close to Brussels with 20-30% travel.



Key accountabilities


As Group continuous improvement & QC Manager:


  1. Develop and implement standards, guidelines and tools for the validation of our existing and upcoming production processes.
  2. Develop and implement standards, guidelines and tools for the validation of our existing and upcoming cleaning processes.
  3. Develop and implement standards, guidelines, validation methodologies and approaches to ensure scientifically sound, efficient and recognized (analytical) methods to control incoming materials, processes and finished products and the development and maintenance of QC
  4. Support sites globally with their program to continuously improve the quality and food safety of our products and processes with validation, training and implementation of different tools. Such as statistical continuous improvement, data analysis tools (SPC), six sigma tools to train, lead and support continuous improvement projects. 
  5. You will act as the Group SAP Quality Lead, managing all Quality related aspects within the SAP environment.
  6. Responsible for the design, implementation, and management of local Quality initiatives, programs, and procedures to support company business areas. This includes the applied use of Statistics and Process Capability.
  7. Support the standardization of all Quality Control procedures within the facility in order to show continuous improvement in all quality related metrics.
  8. As part of the Operational Excellence project lead initiatives on QC optimization and transformation from QC off line to QC on line



Who are we looking for?


  • A degree in biochemistry, food chemistry or bioengineer
  • Knowledge of Thermal Processing, Aseptic, Dry Mixing and Chocolate processing
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as Quality Control Manager/Quality Manager, including experience in validation work, preferably at multi-site level
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in organizing, leading and continuously improving a QC organization
  • Green belt Six Sigma is mandatory and Black belt is a nice to have. Strong analytical skills is a must
  • Knowledge of different Quality tools and Quality & Food Safety management systems and group quality procedures, strategy and quality plan
  • Knowledge of the Quality module within SAP
  • Proven result of continuous improvement within a site or a region
  • Be a certified lead assessor for ISO 9001, ISO 22000 or FSSC 22000, with practical experience in auditing
  • Capable of communicating (spoken and written) in English. Additional languages are a pro.
  • Be able to communicate and influence at all levels of the organization
