Business Controller

Position Overview

In order to further strengthen our Finance team in Switzerland we are currently seeking a:

Business Controller

(Dulliken, Switzerland)

 

Reporting directly to the General Manager in Switzerland as well as to the Finance Manager in Germany, the successful candidate will be in a key role of our Finance Department.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Together with the Finance Team Germany/Belgium drive preparation and distribution of business reports, including month-end closing and year-end audits
  • Manage relationship with internal and external service partners (VAT, Audit, HR & accountancy service providers, …)
  • Act as key point of contact, and adviser to the Swiss General Manager, acting as business partners on internal/external financial aspects, always with an eye to financial goals
  • Perform additional or ad-hoc analysis as per request for fact-based decision making
  • Proactively implement improvements for the accuracy and quality of our financial data
  • Support with other projects and tasks where needed
  • Business partner in controlling for all departments (operations, R&D, Sales)
  • Ensure work is delivered in a timely manner and in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Work with other service lines and subject matter experts in providing an integrated service delivery across functions in an international team to meet the clients' high expectations
  • Align and set up budget and forecasts with group requirements.

 

Required Competencies

  • Education degree in Finance and/or Controlling, preferably a Master’s degree
  • At least 3 years of experience in a in a multi-national context, preferably FMCG
  • Excellent English and German skills, both spoken and written. French is a plus
  • Sufficient knowledge in IFRS              
  • Proficient use of MS Office, expert knowledge in Excel, while the experience of using SAP-ERP and Business Intelligence tools (QV, PowerBI) would be a big plus
  • Flexible, service- and team-oriented personality
  • Ability to work under pressure and to prioritize tasks, even in times of high workload
  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external business partners
  • Understanding of Swiss law & general practices in terms of finance
  • Strong result orientation, determination, and flexibility to work in a matrix organization and problem-solving skills with hands-on attitude
  • Clear ability to communicate and work effectively with key stake holders cross-functionally to influence and impact operations. Proven ability to build strong relationships with business partners, gain trust, and drive results
