Position Overview 

Based at our site in Buckingham, in order to further strengthen our team in the UK we are currently seeking a:

Customer Services Representative 

(Buckingham, UK)

Reporting directly to the Customer Services Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing an exceptional customer service experience as the main contact point for customer orders, queries, and service levels. The role is also key to developing profitable sales and creating strong and long-term customer partnerships in line with the UK commercial strategy. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who would like to play a key part in the supply chain of some of the UK’s biggest food retailers.

Key Accountabilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Processing daily orders for a specified and diverse portfolio of customers across 3 Business Units - Bakery, Patisserie and Chocolate.
  • Working effectively alongside the Purchasing, Production and Quality teams to ensure orders are processed and delivered according to specific customer requirements and agreements.
  • Liaising with on site and off site Transport and Warehouse departments to ensure deliveries are made on time and in full.
  • Effective and proactive communications with customers regarding order status and delivery.
  • Daily reporting and customer account management, for example; raising and processing credit, checking back order reports, reviewing stock levels, printing invoices, service level reporting, general administration etc.
  • Managing and maintaining accurate data, records and costings on all electronic and manual databases.
  • Managing any customer queries or issues outside of sales order processing, for example the management of customer complaints.
  • Support in the delivery of any outward bound call campaigns under the strict guidance and approval of the Customer Services Manager.
  • Answering the general inbound telephone enquiries to the UK business as a whole, directing enquiries to the relevant team member and taking messages where appropriate.  
  • Responding to any external visitors to the site, ensuring compliance to the visitors signing in procedures.
  • Taking an active role in learning about Puratos products through both internal online and classroom training as well as by visiting any appropriate customers to aid product knowledge.



The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience within a Customer Services and/or Business Administration role
  • Ideally have prior experience within the food industry or FMCG (but this is not essential)
  • Be professional and friendly with a confident and effective telephone manner
  • Work with a high attention to detail ensuring accuracy whilst working efficiently  
  • Be a team player who understands the bigger picture and can work well cross-functionally
  • Be a quick learner who can use initiative to solve problems, whilst working within guidelines
  • Be a confident user of Microsoft Office as well as electronic databases and systems
